Hello singers!
Let me introduce myself and tell you my story, hopefully to inspire you to follow your heart and start singing!
I started teaching in 2009 in a private school for singers Mikrofon Star. Until then I honestly felt I had nothing to share, even though I had a lot of experience already. My path to singing was a little bit different because I have never studied at a conservatory. I went to classical music school for 6 years studying the piano and music theory, I have sung in choirs until then and have studied and worked in theater for 6 years to get rid of my stage fright. It was only when I got into jazz that I realized I needed more. I started taking private lessons with teachers I wanted to study with, I have gone to many workshops (jazz, latin, improvisation, Indian singing technique, and many more) with teachers from all over the world, I studied the classical vocal technique in studio Kubus and I have done a lot of work, study, practice and research on my own. In short, it took me a long time to figure things out, unlike someone who has attended a structured educational program like the ones at conservatories. For this reason, I have decided to make things easier for new singers and have created programs to help you in the process of getting into singing.
WHAT IS JAZZ AND HOW TO SING IT?
Jazz for me is......
a surprise, spontaneous, improvisation, playing, reaction, communication, creating in the moment, creativity, love, sound, unexpected and unbelievable and every time different and new!
Jazz isn’t music. Jazz is life.
My tips for singers wanting to learn more about singing jazz:
Sing it with love and a lot of respect. Nothing is as it seems and never stop researching. Look for new surprises and communicate with other musicians! Miracles will happen and when they do - ENJOY IT, and don’t let fear stop you. When you truly begin to enjoy every moment - you will listen and sing differently. Be open for new experiences and knowledge as they will help you grow and progress faster.
